SPARK Construction Program – Now Open for Expressions of Interest!

The Ginninderry SPARK Training & Employment Initiative has partnered with the Canberra Institute of Technology (RTO: 0101), Neoen, The Umbrella Collective, UnitingCare Kippax, Multicultural Hub Canberra, and the Capital Local Jobs Program to deliver a practical and accredited training opportunity for people interested in construction.

This 9-week program provides hands-on learning, work experience, and nationally accredited training, along with non-accredited modules such as Australian Workplace Culture, English for Work Health and Safety, and Bullying and Harassment Prevention. All participants will receive personal protective equipment (PPE) and take part in industry tours and talks from guest speakers.

Program details:
Runs 3 days per week (Wed–Fri), from Wednesday 23 July 2025,
18–24 hours per week,
Delivered at CIT Bruce and Ginninderry,

Includes industry work experience and potential employment pathways.

This program is designed for migrants and refugees who: Are 17 years or older, are not currently enrolled in school or a Year 12 equivalent program, hold an eligible visa, live or work in the ACT.

The session will include a program overview followed by a selection process for eligible participants.

Fee-Free Construction training places may be available for those who meet eligibility under the ACT Government initiative.
