Family Matters – kids safe in culture, not in care is Australia’s national campaign to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people grow up safe and cared for in family, community and culture. Family Matters aims to eliminate the over representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out of home care by 2040.
UnitingCare Kippax has recently signed the Statement of Commitment for Family Matters committing ourselves to five principles, one of which is supporting, healing and strengthening families. This is central to the work we do and an important part of working together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations to support the best possible outcomes for children.
