There will be a Memorial service on Saturday (tomorrow) for Wally Holm, at 2pm. Afternoon tea will be hosted by Kippax after the service, so please bring a plate to share.

Sunday at 2.30pm Rosemary Myers will be commissioned as Pastor within the UCA Hospital Chaplaincy Team at the Chapel Building 3, Level 2 Canberra Hospital Yamba Drive Garran. Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will follow.

This Sunday morning in the 945, we will be making mixing and cooking several of loaves of bread. Come ready to be part of Heaven’s Kitchen, with Gordon Ramsay.

In the 830 and 1030 we are exploring what it means to be a restorative community.

Coming up NEXT WEEK Mark Berry in Canberra for his national tour Fresh Expressions: Life Behind the Hype. I really encourage you to consider attending one of these events as it’s not often that we have a community mission facilitator from the UK in town!

Exploring New Monasticism: Mark’s experience with the Moot Community, London will take us on a journey of discovery into New Monasticism.

Sunday August 16th (An open Ecumenical event) 3.00–5pm Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture: 15 Blackall St (cnr King’s Ave) Barton ACT Cost: $30 ea or 5 for $100

Exploring Fresh Expression – Life behind the hype, the story of safespace. Mark will share his experience of Fresh Expressions over the last 10 years in the UK and the way God has shaped the safespace mission, and the challenges of being a missional community in an institutional church.

Monday August 17th (Leaders Planning & Sharing) 9.30-3pm O’Connor Uniting Church cnr Brigalow & Scrivener St O’Connor.

Exploring Creating New Monastic Practices for the 21st century. Mark will share ‘resources’ for prayer, alt-worship and community life from Fresh Expressions, new-monasticism & explore how communities can develop their own rhythms and practices.

This month, while the weather is still cold, EFMA request donations of hot drink supplies – coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Please leave them in the basket at the back of the auditorium.
