Hannah’s weekly message

Jane Keogh

This Sunday – we are blessed to have Sister Jane Keogh and Ingrid Hatfield with us to talk on the theme of “taking risks”. They will each share about experiences that have invited them to step out in faith. Come and hear from these inspiring women of faith!

This week July 12-18 – The Triennial Assembly gathering of the Uniting Church in Australia will gather in Perth. The theme: “Hearts of Fire” was chosen by incoming President Stuart McMillan, who is from the Northern Synod, because “fire is a rich symbol for the First Peoples of Australia.” You can read more about Stuart here: http://assembly2015.uca.org.au/travelling-north-profiling-the-new-president/

Stuart has selected Zac Hatfield Dodds to be one of his chaplains at Assembly. Lin Hatfield Dodds and Gordon Ramsay will also be attending. Gordon is nominated for President Elect and we ask that you hold him and others at Assembly in your prayers as they discern God’s direction and make decisions that guide the life of the Church over the following years.

It’s that time of the year…AGM Reports time! Can you please pass on your “half page summary” to Hannah or Erin (erin@kippax.org.au). Reports are due in July 20, in preparation for circulation in August.

The Church Council is also calling for nominations. Have you considered how you can offer leadership at Kippax? Can you see gifts of discernment and vision in someone at Kippax that you could nominate?

Have a good think about who you can approach, and email Jon Freeman your nominations: jon.freeman@outlook.com

UnitingCare Kippax’ EFMA program is appealing for Maternity Goods over July. Donations of baby wipes, nappies, powder, formula, toiletries are appreciated. Place these in the Basket in the Kippax auditorium.

Finally a Pastoral Note- our thoughts and prayers are with Elaine Saxon and Eric Holm and their family as they grieve that death of their father, who was just shy of 101 years old. We give thanks for a long full life.

Blessings

Hannah D

(Gordon is away until late July)
