Some of you may have heard the ABC666 Drive program yesterday around 5pm when there was an interview with Zoe Marshall. You may have also heard part of Zoe’s story in the media a couple of weeks back.Zoe is an 18 year old from Canberra who has been volunteering on Pentecost Island in Vanuatu, and who was there at the time of Cyclone Pam. She has been teaching, as part of a self-funded gap year program.
Zoe will be speaking with us at Kippax on Sunday in our 830 service and our 1030 service about her experiences in Vanuatu, her volunteering, the time of the Cyclone and what she sees as next for the nation (and herself). It is part of our focus throughout the Easter season on the way that people are choosing to live their lives in response to the good news of the resurrection
This Sunday is also a great time of celebration – in the 945 service we will be baptising Jakaya Elms and Matilda Benny, and in the 1030 service we will be baptising Grace Payne.
Please also be aware that this Sunday is the final Sunday for our offering in support of the work in Vanuatu, through UnitingWorld. Donations – which go through to our partners in Vanuatu, can be made at the box in the foyer.
I look forward to seeing you on the weekend
Grace and peace
