Christmas Eve 4pm – Stories for children and the young at hear 4pm
Christmas Eve 11pm – Christmas Eve – the Musical!
Christmas Day 9am – Building a better world
Sundays 22 Dec 9:30am – 19 January – a single, combined service
This year our Advent and Christmas theme is “Building a better world”.
God’s building blocks are hope, peace, joy and love, and in our Sunday services and on Christmas Day, Lego is featuring heavily.
Everyone is always welcome to all of the services at Kippax, but at Advent and Christmas, the invitation is especially warm. You might like to try any or all of these services
On Wed Dec 11 at 8pm, we have a Blue Christmas service – a quiet time of peace and reflection for people who are approaching Christmas with a sense of grief or loss. There are many reasons why people may not feel that this is a “Merry Christmas”. May peace be with you
On Sunday 15 December at 9.45am we have one of the wackiest and most special times of the year – the Very Kippax Christmas. Everyone is invited to come dressed as something (anything) to do with the Christmas story. The script we will be using is here. The traditional ‘normal’ characters are welcome. So too are terrible puns. Our guest narrator (clues in the script) is someone of truly world fame.
On Sunday 22 December, in place of our normal three services, we hold a single, combined service at 9.30am. On the theme of “love” we will be seeing how love helps us all to build a better world
On Christmas Eve (Tuesday 24 Dec) at 4pm, we have our Christmas stories for children and the young at heart. It is an informal and relaxing time in what can be a hectic afternoon, to be refreshed about the story of Christmas – and other stories too.
Christmas Eve 11pm – possibly the service highlight each year. A creative way of looking at the Christmas story, and something very different each and every year. This year is a very musical service as we celebrate that Christmas is arriving. A little bit dramatic, a little bit theatrical. This one is special!
And on Christmas Day (Wednesday Dec 25) 9am we have a celebration for all ages, for all people. The service will pick up our “Lego” feel for all of December, as we celebrate that the birth of this baby, “Jesus” is building a better world.
From Sunday 29 December until Jan 19 we have a single Sunday morning service at 9.30am each week.
